Nursing Home Project

I started Nursing Home Project during the summer of 2021 with the goal of sending a trilogy of prints to all 350 nursing homes in Massachusetts. The matrices are from a single oak branch, each is printed with different color and burnished by hand. The first set of prints printed on blue paper in black ink went to 30 nursing homes. The second set of 40 prints in three different earth tones following colors to be reflective of the season/ location of the printing. I see this series as slow walk in the woods; a contemplation on aging, the past year, a pilgrimage of sorts not knowing the path I follow.

Having cared for family members in rehabilitation and care homes I remember the dedication and kindness of the staff and administrators.
