The phrase “Time is caged and moving indefinitely between twelve words” is a comment on the perception of time in the Cuban context, a reality where past and present is juxtaposed. The year is presented as a basic unit that is constantly repeating itself and each month is personalized through a situation. Moreover, the piece becomes a sort of non-linear insular chronicle of time; therefore the calendar does not represent a particular year but all of them at once. In the main, each piece clearly shows that the fact that time does not move on is a common reality experienced by people living on a stressful and oppressive island.
